A series of four dreaming workshops for 26-37 year olds.
October 2026 – April 2027
“Now that I’m free to be myself, who am I?” ~ Mary Oliver
Winter is the time for dreaming and in this cycle of workshops we will dream into the possibilities of our lives. This is a journey of discovery for young women who have stepped out into the world and still wonder which path to take; who know how to blossom but wonder how to sink deep roots into the earth, and can’t decide if they are sleek leopard, wary wolf or a small but magical wren.
We will follow the teachings of old ones from these lands and others, learn from stories, sing, drum and sit on the wild land where the ocean calls, singing into the wind, sinking into the waters for revival, waiting for secrets to be revealed in ancient stone circles.
The whole universe and right relationship to it are encompassed in the Twenty Count, which brings together many teachings from the Americas. With respect and gratitude to those who held them through great adversity, we will learn how these teachings help us develop relationships with the Four Worlds of Mother Earth. With gratitude again, we bring teachings from Central and South America.
We will weave these teachings together with the wisdom of this land embedded in the old stories; the ancient stones; the magical trees – hazel, elder, hawthorn; our sisters and brothers the raven, buzzard, deer and hare…so many familiar beings whose deep layers of connection are slowly returning to us.
Sit on the wild land where the ocean calls
We will set up spiritual practices that will support this journey.
We will explore different facets of life, spirit and relationship to the natural world – sexuality, birthing, bringing our gifts to life – the work that will sustain us; learning what the earth wants from us; making community; finding home.
This time in our life is a passage between youth and maturity. The decisions we make now are truly important, as we attempt to create a space of beauty for ourselves on this Earth, as we sing our true nature into being. We will gather together the different pieces of our life and start finding the connections between them, so that a coherent whole may start to emerge of who we are and how we walk, what we love and how we create.
We will gather for 4 days at a time through the winter months: time to go deep within the cave like the bear and dream with the earth. With a mixture of ceremony, teaching, song, drum, story and much time on the land, visiting the quiet stone circles where our ancestors made ceremony, communicating with the land and the stars.
We will explore ways to open to the dreamtime and each make a dream bowl, asking the land for seeds with which to fili it.
We will chart connections between the moon, our blood cycles and our dreams
We will explore divination making our own divination sticks and working over a threshold.
There will be opportunities to sit a shared fire vigil and spend a night out alone learning to love the dark and open the gateways of dusk and dawn..
We will learn right relationship with the Earth: how to praise her, gift her, and fulfill our obligations to her.
Sitting in circle, we will witness one another’s dreams, We will feast together, laugh, cry, support one another and so strengthen our community.
Should you so wish, there will be opportunity to sit a four day vision quest in the early summer and then gather with others to support a rite of passage for younger women at Lughnasad.
Led by Annie Spencer, with other women also bringing teachings.
